MY BEAUTY DREAM

EN - My first step in color grading this footage was to immerse myself in the scene and identify the emotions I wanted the audience to feel. Our main character, a deeply troubled woman, wraps plastic around her head in a desperate bid to become a prettier version of herself, much like in The Substance. But her attempt fails, twisting her into a horrifying, distorted figure. To better translate this intense, depressive, and chaotic state of mind, to color grade the scenes I used decaying green and yellowish hues—colors that associated with unease and introspection. I also emphasized red tones in her cheeks and lips to highlight her pursuit of beauty, creating a stark contrast against the scene’s dark, unraveling tone.

PT - Meu primeiro passo na colorização deste material foi mergulhar na cena e identificar as emoções que eu queria que o público sentisse. Nossa personagem principal, uma mulher profundamente perturbada, envolve a cabeça com plástico em uma tentativa desesperada de se tornar uma versão mais bonita de si mesma, semelhante ao que ocorre em The Substance. Na sua tentativa falha, acaba se transformando em uma figura horrível e distorcida. Para traduzir melhor esse estado mental intenso, depressivo e caótico, na colorização das cenas, usei tons de verde em decomposição e tons amarelados — cores associadas ao desconforto e à introspecção. Também destaquei tons vermelhos em suas bochechas e lábios para enfatizar sua busca pela beleza, criando um contraste marcante contra o tom escuro e a cena decadente.
